Usually the hosts do well (host has never failed to get through the group stage), but I don't think South Africa will make it out of this group. Mexico have been highly rated in recent years but seem to have gone downhill, and Uraguay have always been a 'decent' team. France will be favourites but have a crazy manager and a under-performing team.

My prediction: France and Mexico.

irish would be hoping to see france struggle at this group but i dont think thats going to happen. they still have a good enough sqaud to see-off other teams in this group. despite playing at home south africa doesnt have the firepower to progress. mexico has a young evolving squad and their players can play good attacking football. so it has to be france and mexico from this group without a shadow of doubt.

Uruguay and France for me. France is a given and I think that Uruguay has a lot of quality players and I will be back to this thread after the group is finished to gloat.

Well, of course I'd like to see the US not get stomped (as it usually does) and if so I'd really like to see them play Mexico in a late round game. Beyond that I don't know and don't care much. I'll vote France & Mexico because wasn't France in the finals last time?

france definately. there would be tough competition between mexico and uruguay. i think uruguay might just clinch into second place.

I cant see South Africa getting out of the group to be honest France and Uruguay for me

france and uruguay seem to be goin on the right track, we will have to see.
