Arsene Wenger is delighted on his re-signing of Sol Campbell. In a press conference ahead of his side’s second leg tie with Porto he said:

Quote:Sol wants to win and he can spread that through the team and give advice. We want to win this game but we also need to be patient maybe and it is important to keep your head. He gives us a good mixture, it is not only him, but there is a good blend of youth and experience.

This comment is expected from a wise man as Arsene Wenger, right? After all, the right mixture of youth and experience is the recipe to success in professional football. This method been extensively utilized by Sir Alex Ferguson, who recently won his 35th trophy.

On the other hand, Arsene Wenger, who brought back the technical, heavily stylized football into modern day game rely totally on youngsters. He continously refuses to sign older, experienced players and shows every support to his youth squad.

During his early days at Arsenal, he brought in some of the finest young players who were virtually unknown. He made them into superstars, but they were blessed because at that time, Arsenal already had a set of experienced players who guided them to club's principles and Wenger's expectations. They were not as badly exposed as the current squad.

The team led by Fabregas, today is a stylized bunch of youngsters, who are left there without any guidance on the pitch. Wenger does his job as a coach but when it really matters, Arsenal players don't have anyone on the pitch to look for support and inspiration. They are all playing the beautiful game Arsene Wenger have coached them to do. And what a great job they do. If there was ever a trophy for loving the game and adoring its every aspect. It would definately go Arsene Wenger and Arsenal.

They are the most fascinating team at the moment, they play the fluid football which is rare this days. The one-to-one passes, the mastery of skills shown by this set of players are simply awesome.

But, its not enough to run the club smoothly. They need the financial input to function the club. They need to win cups and fill out those trophy cabinet. I know its been said everytime, but Wenger needs to bring in some old legs, just to keep the youngsters on their toes. To make the dressing room, more professional and inspirational. They need someone to lead the team. Someone who can be a role-model for the squad. Someone who has the experience under-his-belt to motivate the team.

I truly believe that Arsene Wenger is one the best manager we have ever seen. But his negative intake on older players is his biggest flaw. If he rethinks his policy, Arsenal can again go a season unbeaten!

Arsene Wenger has called on his young Arsenal side to focus on eliminating their own "weak moments" rather than get obsessed with the chance of revenge against Manchester United or Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The Gunners secured a place in the last eight with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Porto at Emirates Stadium, overturning a 2-1 deficit from the first leg, as Nicklas Bendtner got back on the goal trail with a hat-trick.

Wenger said: "It is never easy to be in the top eight in Europe. The negative side is you only have good teams now - Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea, so it will be difficult."

The Arsenal manager added: "At the beginning of the season, nobody expected this team to be where we are, but we showed we have mental strength, we have good desire and good quality.

"I believe it is more important on our side to continue to improve - there are still some weak moments in the game we can deal with better, so before we talk about Barcelona or Manchester United it is important we continue to improve, then we have a chance."

Wenger, however, stressed: "If we say we absolutely do not want to play an English team, we put ourselves in an inferior position at the start.

"Maybe it is a good opportunity, if we get them, to show we can do well. If I have a choice, I would say yes, but I do not have a choice. If we get them, we cannot do worse than we did in the championship - we can only do better.

"We will take the draw we get and also we do not have to make a negative obsession of not playing against Chelsea or Manchester United."

Bendtner had missed a string of chances against Burnley on Saturday, but produced decisive finishes last night.

Wenger said: "It shows you how football can change very quickly. Nicklas had not lost the confidence, it remains relatively stable. He came back with good focus and the same belief - that is one of his strengths as well."

Was just sitting thinking to myself do footballers these days want to play for the club they're at or is it all about the money? In these modern times where billionares are buying all these clubs and luring in the big names to play for them, are they playing for club or money?

I think that on the whole football has lost a lot of meaning these days, i mean when you think back to the old days when you'd play for a few quid a week (or whatever it was years ago) i think most players then wanted to play for there team. But now it's all about the money, a top player taking home £150.000 a week is a bit over the top considering what you'd get paid in a lower league.

And another point is the sudden decline in our english teams getting into debt and then going into administration and having to sell players they could really do with.

Anyway that's my bit over, now it's your turn.

Rafa Benitez is confident that midfielder Javier Mascherano will sign a new deal at Liverpool before the end of the season.

The Argentina captain has previously suggested he wanted to be told the club's future plans before putting pen to paper amid reported interest from Barcelona.

"Liverpool have approached us to discuss a new contract and my agent will have a meeting in the next few days," said Mascherano.

"The reality is that I am very happy at Liverpool. I want to know what the club's plans are and then we will see if, at this moment in time, I can renew my contract.

"It is not that I felt unsettled [by the rumours of Barcelona's interest] in the summer or that I am more at home now. I have always been very happy at Liverpool. Everyone at the club has always treated me very well. That is all there is to say at this stage."

But Benitez claims there will be no problems between the Reds and Mascherano's agent.

The Spaniard said: "I was talking with Mascherano and his agent the other day and it is true Javier is happier.

"The agent had been really good when we were talking in the past and the conversations were very positive.

"When you talk with Javier he is very settled and happy. Everyone knew about some clubs (being interested in him) but talking with us he was fine."

The 'Red Knights' have confirmed their intention to try to oust the owners of Manchester United.

Sickened by the huge amount of debt the Glazers' took on to complete their controversial takeover in 2005, the Red Knights are intent on launching a takeover bid.

Described as a group of "high net worth individuals", the Red Knights include Jim O'Neill, chief economist at Goldman Sachs and a one-time friend of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Although plans are at a very early stage and no contact has been made with the Glazers, who have always stressed they are not interested in a deal, a meeting in London yesterday between the key individuals involved in the Red Knights project went through various scenarios and will now look at formulating a plan to raise in excess of £1billion.

"We can confirm that a group of high net worth individuals, who support Manchester United (known as the "Red Knights"), met in London yesterday," a statement released on behalf of the Red Knights read.

"This group is supportive of current management but are looking at the feasibility of putting together a proposal to be put to the Glazer family regarding the ownership of Manchester United.

"These discussions are in early stages and no contact has been made with the Glazer family."

Leading football deal-maker Keith Harris is also involved and has previously suggested some kind of boycott may be required to reduce United's current profits and wreck the Glazers' present business plan.

There is certainly a groundswell of opinion against the Glazers and the current "Green and Gold campaign" so in evidence at Wembley on Sunday has proved incredibly popular.

As a starting measure, the Red Knights are urging supporters to join the Manchester United Supporters Trust, which has been vehemently opposed to the Glazers from day one.

"For such a proposal to be viable it would require the involvement and support of Manchester United supporters worldwide," the statement continued.

"The Red Knights have been liaising with the Manchester United Supporters Trust and their representatives attended yesterday's meeting.

"As a first step, the Red Knights want supporters to demonstrate their commitment by joining the free online membership of the Supporters Trust, http://www.joinmust.org.

"Any new ownership model would aim not only to put the club on a sound financial footing, but would also aim to put the supporters at the heart of everything the club does."

Duncan Drasdo, chief executive of MUST, welcomed Tueday's news.

He said: "I can confirm that we were present at the 'secret' meeting of the Red Knight Group yesterday and have been involved in discussions for some time.

"This development is hugely welcome as there is a genuine desire to see a change of ownership at Manchester United.

"Initially the Red Knight Group has effectively set a challenge to Manchester United supporters to demonstrate they wish to see an alternative ownership proposal developed.

"In the first instance supporters are being asked to do this simply by joining the free online membership of the Supporters Trust (MUST) and swelling its ranks to an initial target of at least 100,000.

"It is also essential for a majority of two key groups, the Old Trafford season ticket holders and those with executive facilities, to show their appetite for participation by joining the MUST online campaign."

Liverpool have insisted that they have had no contacts from same Abu Dhabi royal family that also own Manchester City.

The Reds were reportedly approached by a member of the wealthy Al Nahyan dynasty who is interested to invest in the club.

Last season, Premier League rivals Man City have been bought over by Sheikh Mansour who is also a member of this family.

According to The Daily Star, the Premier League will sanction the deal between Liverpool and the Abu Dhabi investors even though there might be a confliction of interest as the two clubs are owned by the same family.

The same report also claims the Premier League chiefs believes the family rivalry might even add an extra edge.

Liverpool have debts amounting to £237million and it's an open secret that they are looking for investors. Three or four parties are believed to be interested but it is also thought that the potential investors are waiting to see if Liverpool do qualify for the lucrative Champions League competition next season.

Getting new investors to inject cash into the squad is also reportedly vital to the club as it would convince star players like Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Javier Mascherano to stay at the club. It would also allow Rafael Benitez to have more clout in the transfer market next season.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Users playing FM with the 2nd Patch, as the FM build number is the same for the 3 types of FM (DVD, Steam, Digital Download), you will have to select your own version the first time you press the Load Button, FMRTE will save your choice and will use it everytime you load it.

NOTE: Editing Players/Staff names
•If a player name has for ex, 8letters, you can only type a name that has at max 8 letters too!
•If you edit a player/staff name, there is a huge possibility that all (or some of) players that has that name will be changed as well.
•If you want to type a bigger name, you can do it, by first changing the player/staff name with the old method, and then edit the new name to the one you want..
•Clubs and stadiums names - Unfortunately this is not possible as FM will reload clubs and stadiums names from the game database the next time you load your savegame, so editing those items names is useless

NOTE: Sometimes you may not be able to create any new Relation/Clausule, FMRTE knows how many Relations/Clausules you can create, and when you cannot create it will hide you the "New Relation/Clausule" button. (USE this feature carefully)
